From the journey of young Anakin skywalker, the little boy of tatooine, becoming a jedi knight and even taking a further step to become the treacherous and feared Darth Vader, the legacy of Star wars seemed to get much better with every release of its sequel/prequel. George Lucas was clever enough to release episodes four, five and six on the pre sci-fi era where it was accepted with an open heart as those films had huge star value along with commercial elements including Han solo’s love life, Vader and Luke’s father-son bonding etc.

A few months back, there was a new release of the entire Star Wars saga DVD box set worldwide including various bonus features, commentary, deleted scenes and the works. Lucas soon planned to make a whole new appearance to the world of High definition and as stated earlier, the whole epic is under development to be released in a blu ray box set version.

If all those were not enough, today’s announcement stated that "Star Wars" is entering the third dimension as per LucasFilm’s announcement. According to the developers, "Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace" will be released in 3D to theaters in 2012. As with the original releases, Twentieth Century Fox is providing back up to the movies.

According to some known sources , there were anonymous Tips that LucasFilm will release one of the original six "Star Wars" films in 3D each following year. The films will be released in chronological order by episode. So this time star wars fans, be sure to pack your light sabers cause this time around, there will be problem following each episode one from another.

During this time, Star Wars fans will be able to get their hands on Blu-ray versions of the films next year. As mentioned, the "Star Wars" Blu-ray box set is scheduled for release in fall 2011. Facts report that the box set will feature revamped visuals and audio and several special features, including deleted scenes and various commentary sections for the film.
