With Jism 2 hitting headlines almost on a daily basis because of the inclusion of Canadian adult film actor Sunny Leone in its star cast, now comes some news about the director of the original film. Apparently, Amit Saxena, who has not done any film since his 2003 hit, has suddenly woken up to the fact that he’s been kept out of the sequel, and has taken up work on a new production.
The film, titled I Am 18, will go on the floors in the first week of May and is being produced by Eagle Home Entertainment. The director was unreachable for comment, while the production house refused to comment, except to confirm the fact that Amit was doing their film. “Yes, it’s true that my company is doing a film with Amit as the director. Beyond this, we wouldn’t like to disclose details,” said Aditya Bhatia, national marketing head of Eagle Home Entertainment.
It’s unknown why the production house wants to maintain this blanket of secrecy, considering that I Am 18 is not even a big budget film and only stars wannabe actor Poonam Pandey in the lead. Adds Aditya, “It’s a conscious decision not to talk to any media house till May 1. I can’t even disclose the male lead.” The first look will be launched on May 1 along with the announcement about the male lead and other details.
I Am 18 is Poonam’s debut Bollywood film. “After rejecting more than 30 film offers, I’ve finally signed a film. I had a look test and they thought I’m not just excellent in a bikini, but very good at acting too,” brags Poonam. “The filmmakers have a wonderful script which I felt was the best for my debut film.”
